Interview with...

Sanskrit students

. For millenniums, the city of Kashi holds a very high reputation as far as knowledge is concerned. It is the city of knowledge. And knowledge in India was transmitted for a long time through that particularly complex language, called the Sanskrit. The Varanaseya Sanskrit Vishvavidyalaya is the flagship of Sanskrit teaching.

. But tens of other colleges or other schools teach it too. These days, to study this ancient language with so much enthusiasm and determination seems to be an incredible challenge. However, there are thousands in Kashi and millions all over India who study it.

. We met two young students who think that Sanskrit is far from being a dead language.
